Your role in our journey
You will work as part of a team to improve public health outcomes for children, young people and families living in the Borough. You will work alongside public health colleagues within both our Children’s and Young Peoples Public Health team and our Health Improvement team to support the development and implementation of strategies and interventions that tackle health inequalities and target children and young people in most need.
You will contribute to the work around our Oral Health Improvement programme, with a focus on Supervised toothbrushing clubs. You will work with Barnsley Family Hubs, Early Years Settings and Primary schools to increase the uptake of supervised toothbrushing in our borough. You will support with delivering training to settings with the aim of improving awareness of the importance of good oral health.
We are looking for a committed, dynamic and flexible individual with a passion for improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people in Barnsley. You will need to be a great team worker with excellent communication skills. It would be beneficial for you to understand the oral health agenda and have an innovative and creative approach to your work. There will be opportunities to support the wider Children and Young Peoples public health teams on other priority areas likely to include food and healthy weight.
