Job Description Join Glasgow’s Education Services Team Position: Support For Learning Worker Location: Glasgow City (various positions) Hours : 20 hours across 5 days – 52 week and Term Time posts available Annual Salary: £24,183.81 - £25,716.37 (pro rata to be applied) Do you have experience of supporting and caring for children’s needs? We’re recruiting Support for Learning Workers to support our children whilst building positive working relationships and promoting positive behaviour. About the Role: We have a number of different roles available across our Early Years establishments. In all our roles you will assist and support Early Years colleagues in the delivery of a high standard of education whilst actively supporting and assisting in the delivery of an inclusive and diverse Early Years service. The role will be involved in supporting and assisting the lunch-time experience for the children in the nursery whilst working effectively as part of a wider team. Key Responsibilities: Building positive working relationships with children within the nursery whilst actively supporting and promoting positive behaviour. Supporting and assisting in the delivery of a high-quality lunch-time experience. Supporting and assisting with the delivery of the Early Years curriculum inclusive of outdoor play and learning. Where appropriate, assisting pupils who need specific intimate personal care and medical support. What We Seek: You will preferably have experience of working with children in a care/educational environment, however training and support will be provided as required. You will have good communication skills and the ability to be an effective team member who can assist and support colleagues. You will be able to provide a high standard of care for children, remain calm in challenging situations, and be empathetic, flexible and reliable. You will have an awareness, knowledge and understanding of curriculum and literacy functions within Education services. The preferred candidate will be required to obtain membership of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to formal offer of employment being made. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks. The preferred candidate will be eligible for SSSC membership, having either already obtained the relevant qualification or being willing to work towards this.
