This Stem Cell Biomedical Scientist position is suitable for a qualified Biomedical Scientist to apply on a locum basis to start as a locum with a pay of £30 - £40 P/H (rate negotiable on experience.
Beneficial criteria to help be successful in this BMS role include the following:
* Duties as follows:
o Maintain an up to date knowledge of Haematology/Blood Transfusion and Stem Cell Biology including current working practices.
o Carry out appropriate procedures, including those requiring the exercise of independent judgement and initiative with minimal supervision.
o Assist in research projects, where necessary, and to be involved in the development of new procedures and techniques.
o Assisting in the sampling, processing and cryopreservation of stem cell products.
o Work in a clean-room environment to process stem cells for patient transplant.
o Use interpretive skills to determine clinically significant laboratory results and take action.
o Ensure safe practice when using liquid nitrogen following Health and Safety guidelines.
o Following and implementing standards as required by the appropriate regulatory bodies such as JACIE and HTA.
