Kent County Councils Strengthening Independence Service is recognised for the outstanding support provided by its Social Workers whose care and commitment shines through their work (Ofsted 2022).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Social Worker in the West Kent Disabled Childrens Team 2. Our team consists of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers and Social Work Assistants and you will work closely with our colleagues in Disabled Young Peoples Social Work Teams and other key agencies, such as Health, Education and the voluntary sector.
You will be working with disabled children and young people aged between 0 and 17 supporting them to progress towards independence. The role within our team will enable you to gain further experience in a wide range of work, including supporting Children in Need, Court applications, Children in Care and Child Protection.
You will be highly motivated and demonstrate excellent social work knowledge, skills and values to deliver the highest quality service to disabled young people, their families and carers.
You will hold a degree in Social Work (CQSW, DipSW or equivalent), be registered with Social Work England and have a variety of post-qualification experience of working with children and/or adults and their families.
KCC has an extensive training and development programme in place, providing employees with support and opportunities to further develop their knowledge and skills, ensuring they receive regular high-quality supervision.
Kent County Council offers a hybrid working model with a combination of home and office working. The contractual base is in Worrall House, Kings Hill, West Malling.
The team covers a large geographical area and there would be an expectation that you are able to work flexibly across the whole area covered by the team.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
