Registered Veterinary Nurse - Small Animal
Join the team at Rathgael Veterinary Clinic, a RCVS-accredited and veterinary nurse training practice located in Bangor.
The Role
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse at Rathgael Veterinary Clinics, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to a wide variety of patients. You will be responsible for providing direct nursing care, assisting in surgeries, and supporting the veterinary team in clinical procedures. Your duties will include running nurse-led clinics, performing diagnostic imaging, monitoring anaesthesia, and managing inpatient care. You’ll also have the opportunity to carry out tasks such as blood sampling, administering medications, and assisting with laboratory work.
In addition to clinical duties, you will have a chance to contribute to patient education by leading nurse consultations, which may include topics such as weight management, dental care, and post-operative care. You will also help guide and mentor student nurses, ensuring they have the support and knowledge they need to grow in their roles.
Work Alongside Advanced Professionals
At Rathgael Veterinary Clinic, we offer the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated and experienced team of vets, nurses, and support staff in a supportive and progressive environment. Our clinics are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including ultrasound, digital and dental x-rays, laser therapy, piped gases, and anaesthesia. You’ll have the chance to collaborate with vets who hold advanced qualifications in general practice, dermatology, and orthopaedics, as well as perform advanced dental treatments.
We truly value our nurses and encourage them to run their own clinics and take on delegated responsibilities. We are also committed to your ongoing professional development, providing support for CPD and offering opportunities for specialisation. Our strong community connections, including our partnership with The Barn Animal Rescue, allow us to contribute to the welfare of animals in need while providing excellent care to our patients.
What Will You Bring to Our Team?

You should possess strong communication skills and have a passion for working within a team, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while prioritising tasks effectively. A commitment to ongoing professional development (CPD) is essential, and we value individuals who are dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest veterinary practices.
