We’re looking for two new Hygiene Shift Managers to join our team in Spalding, UK.
As the Hygiene Shift Manager at Westfalia Fruit, your role will oversee managing a hygiene team working between our 3 UK sites located in Spalding and ensuring you and your team follow site practices in all production and communal facilities. Ensuring a hygienic food safe and working environment is always maintained.
Responsibilities Include:
* Drive and implement significant improvements in hygiene efficiency and effectiveness across all Westfalia UK sites.
* Ensure compliance with hygiene policies and regulations, including FSA, HSE, BRC, and customer standards.
* Manage shift labour effectively to meet budgeted labour cost targets.
* Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes to maintain hygiene standards.
* Provide training and track KPIs to ensure full compliance, working with the Site Hygiene & Environmental Manager on best practices.
* Lead daily huddle meetings to focus on health & safety, quality, and hygiene performance.
* Maintain accurate hygiene records, including inspections, schedules, training, and compliance documentation.
* Oversee recruitment, selection, performance management, and staff development within the hygiene team.
* Promote a strong food safety culture, ensuring proper product handling, PPE use, and immediate reporting of any concerns.
* Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to Health & Safety regulations and enforcing best practices.
Requirements:
* Previous experience leading a Hygiene team.
* HACCP level 3 or knowledge of Site HACCP teams.
* COSHH experience.
* People management and motivation capabilities.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Able to juggle multiple tasks with deftness and attention to deadlines.
* Tolerant and understanding.
* Flexible and hands-on approach.
* MUST have a driver's license and own transport. As a night shift specialist, public transport is not reliable and travel between sites is necessary from time to time.
* Ability to work 4 on 4 off Night Shift patterns.
