THE COMPANY: Our client is a boutique investment firm, offering services including wealth management and planning, along with corporate advisory/broking activities.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct ID checks for private individuals, corporate entities, and other complex structures.
2. Perform KYC reviews in line with UK regulatory requirements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
3. Carry out Enhanced Due Diligence for high-risk clients, including assessing ownership structures, adverse media screening, and source of funds/wealth verification.
4. Monitor client transactions to detect potential suspicious activity, escalating where necessary.
5. Review and assess KYC documentation for new clients and periodic reviews for existing ones.
6. Ensure adherence to AML, CTF, and other financial crime prevention regulations.
7. Assist in the investigation of high-risk transactions.
8. Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve compliance-related queries.
9. Keep up to date with UK regulatory changes and industry best practices.
10. Maintain the overall standard the FCA expects firms to adhere to.
11. Abide by the FCA Individual Conduct rules.
12. Complete any training assigned by the company.
13. Complete any professional qualifications.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Previous experience in a KYC/AML role within a regulated financial services firm.
2. Strong knowledge of UK AML regulations, JMLSG Guidance, and FCA requirements.
3. Hands-on experience conducting EDD on complex clients (e.g., high-risk individuals, corporate structures, trusts).
4. Familiarity with transaction monitoring and identifying red flags for suspicious activity.
5. Experience using KYC screening tools (e.g., World-Check, Refinitiv, Dow Jones, LexisNexis).
6. Strong analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail.
7. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for dealing with internal stakeholders and regulators.
9. Strong numerical and analytical skills.
