Job Purpose I am a 7 year old boy with additional needs, looking for a Personal Assistant to spend time with me and take me out and about. I am hoping to return to Beavers on a Wednesday evening and would like you to take me and support me during the session. On the weeks’ when there is no Beavers, the day and time can be more flexible and I would like to go out possibly to the park, soft play, the farm and other places. I am a wheelchair user and although I can self-propel myself if I choose, I will require you to push me most of the time. I am doubly incontinent and would need you to be comfortable changing me when required. I love playing on my tablet and listening to music. I have four siblings, two cats and one fish. I love chocolate buttons and pancakes. I ‘feel’ very strongly and portray my likes/dislikes to things loudly. I will often shout out and sometimes this can involve inappropriate language. Personal Specification: Essential: Full clean UK driving licence. Excellent communication skills. Confident and able to remain calm. Friendly, caring and reliable. Desirable: An understanding of Autism and Disabilities in Children Summary Terms and Conditions - The rate of pay for this position is £12.38 per hour. - Hours and times of work as follows: 2 hours per week, probably Wednesday evenings between 6.15 and 7.30pm, this can be more flexible when Beavers is not on (days and times to be discussed at interview). - The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks. - Access to free Care Skills training for employer workers. - If this job requires; Manual Handling, Handling of hazardous chemicals and/or Food Handling you will be required undertake annual training. - You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
