Start Date: 1st September 2025
Are you a passionate Early Years Leader who believes in creating an enabling learning environment which stimulates our children to be inquisitive and expressive in their play? Are you looking for a fresh challenge? Want to be part of an ambitious school with a supportive team in a fantastic location? If this sounds like you, make the move to Plympton St Marys Church of England Infant School.
We are seeking a new staff member to lead our EYFS team where high-quality provision for all is at the heart of what we do. Plans are already underway to grow our Early Years’ provision and to open a nursery, for children aged three and four, from September 2025. We are looking for someone who has high expectations, creative flare and zest to bring learning to life for our Reception and Nursery pupils. Using your strong pedagogy and philosophy for Early Years, you will skilfully and carefully match learning to children’s developmental needs. Developing a close working partnership with parents and Early Years’ staff will be central to your practice. Alongside leading the team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day teaching within a Reception/Nursery class.
Our school is situated in Plympton, Plymouth and we share a leadership team across our two sites of Plympton St Mary’s and Old Priory Junior School. We are popular schools because of our high expectations and because our school values underpin all that we do. Our core value is love and we aim to show that in everything that we do in our schools: in our lives as teachers; in our relationships with the children and their families; and in our determination to provide the best learning and pastoral experiences for all of our children. The schools are part of St Christopher’s Trust - a family of 21 Church and Community Schools spanning three local authorities and providing a rich network of collaboration.
In joining Plympton St Mary’s, you will be part of a friendly and welcoming staff team and a supportive community. You will have the opportunity to develop your teaching and leadership skills in an environment that has a strong focus on CPD whatever career stage you are at. As a Church of England school, you will be happy to support the Anglican ethos through our school values.
