Job summary We wish to recruit a full time (37.5 hours per week) Administrative Assistant to join the team working in Nevill Hall Children's Centre. This post will also cross cover with reception support in Caerphilly and Serennu Children's Centres It is a very busy but friendly and supportive team and we need someone who is able to support us with the service that we provide to children and young people with disabilities and developmental difficulties. You need to be well organised and practical and must have: excellent verbal and written communication skills good keyboard skills and excellent IT skills with the ability to use all Microsoft packages with confidence experience of an office / reception environment is desirable as is a calm, patient and polite telephone manner provide a positive, professional, welcoming and friendly first impression for all visitors to the Children's Centre be able to work to deadlines be interested in the well being of children and young people be able to work on your own initiative when the need arises Main duties of the job To act as the first point of contact for Nevill Hall Children's Centre when required, answer the telephone and liaise with the general public, staff and other professionals within the Health Board in a sympathetic and professional manner. Carrying out general clerical duties, including filing correspondence both manually and electronically. Send out signed letters and reports in a timely manner. Typing of emails and other correspondence as and when required To keep up to date with filing and scanning according to department procedures. To maintain and develop databases and systems to support the smooth running of the children's centre. To carry out any other duties compatible with the grade which may be assigned from time to time by the Children Centre Team Lead.
