Nurse Team Leader - Elderly Care Ward 9B

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Team Leader to join our Elderly Care Ward at the East and North Hertfordshire NHS. Ward 9B is a vibrant, fast-paced, and busy ward which provides a variety of diverse and complex medical treatments for elderly patients.
The post holder will work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team and must demonstrate expertise and leadership in the delivery of care to their patients. They will work collaboratively ensuring the delivery of high quality and safe patient-centred care is adhered to at all times. Supporting continued education, training, and staff development is paramount.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will need to be able to care for a group of patients with a variety of needs, coordinate the daily running of the ward, and communicate with the wider multidisciplinary and administrative teams.
The role will also involve extended roles and responsibilities and work closely with the Manager to assist in the daily management of the ward.
Promote high standards of professional practice and high-quality care delivery within Trust and Departmental policies, protocols, and guidelines.
In conjunction with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, to be responsible for the organisation, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for patients within the department.
Monitor identified quality indicators, ensuring the team delivers excellent care to achieve the desired patient outcomes.
Participate in the ward shift pattern.
The post requires an ability to work flexibly during the week, as well as Saturdays and Sundays where required, to be able to deliver care to the highest standards.

Qualifications
* RGN/RN Adult Branch
* Diploma or degree in nursing/healthcare related subject
Previous Experience
* Ward nursing management experience at upper band 5
* Extended role skills including IV drugs, cannulation, and phlebotomy
* Experience in acute medicine and or elderly care as an RN
Skills
* Flexibility
* Highly developed communication skills
* Ability to teach and lead a team
* Motivation to work in an acute setting for the elderly
* Management and leadership skills
* Management courses
* Counselling and appraisal skills
Knowledge
* In-depth knowledge of the nursing care of acute elderly care patients
