Gateshead Council are currently looking for a dedicated and capable individual to join their Safeguarding Triage Team.
This team plays a crucial role in receiving and triaging safeguarding concerns, ensuring that the right actions are taken to address and resolve each case. Some cases may be concluded by the Triage Team, while others will be escalated to the Safeguarding Coordination Team for further investigation.
This position can be managed remotely, but initial induction and training will require the candidate to be present in the office for a period of 2 weeks.
Responsibilities -
Receive and assess incoming safeguarding concerns, ensuring prompt and correct triaging
Conduct further enquiries in a thorough and proportionate manner as required by the Triage Team
Determine the appropriate course of action for each case, either concluding it within the Triage Team or escalating it to the Safeguarding Coordination Team
Collaborate with colleagues to gather and analyse relevant information, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of each case
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all cases, documenting actions taken and outcomes
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners involved in the safeguarding process
Stay updated on relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in safeguarding to ensure compliance and improved decision-making
Requirements
Registration with SWE
Qualification in Social Work
Minimum 2 years experience as a social worker
