The role
As a Joiner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary.
Day-to-day, you will plan and coordinate all work within the bay, as well as:
1. Carry out routine maintenance on Carpentry shop machinery as detailed in Air Publications.
2. Submit demands for stores in accordance with the bays’ tasks. Controlling the use and serviceability of all tools and equipment used by them.
3. Ensure the completeness and quality of all manufacture and repair tasks undertaken by instruction, drawings, and relevant Publications.
4. Ensure that the materials used in the manufacturing and repair of components are controlled in accordance with Air Publications. And maintaining a clean and tidy workplace and that all waste materials are disposed of and not allowed to accumulate.
This role is part time and based onsite at RAF Valley. The hours of this role are Tue/Wed/Thurs 8 – 16.30
Essential experience of the Joiner:
5. Previous experience in this type of work and at this level
6. Operating machinery i.e., Thicknesser and plainer as an example, crosscut, and Morticer.
Qualifications for the Joiner:
7. Min City and Guilds carpentry or NVQ level 2 in carpentry Desirable
8. H&S certificate in the use of machinery or a similar certification or time bound experience
Security Clearance
9. The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC Clearance.
