THE OPPORTUNITY
The Project Co-Ordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of construction and solar energy projects. This role requires excellent organisational skills, a strong understanding of project management principles, and the ability to coordinate between multiple stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams. A proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must have as the day-to-day tracker management is a priority.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction or renewable energy sector, with a proven ability to manage project timelines, trackers, budgets, and resources effectively.
THE DAY TO DAY
1. Project Planning and Coordination:
* Assist in the development of project plans, timelines, and budgets for construction and solar energy projects.
* Work on Pre-Construction stages to compile project packs and site packs for handover to delivery.
* Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
* Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders through management of trackers.
1. Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, and compliance records.
* Support Project Manager compiling the end of project documentation such as test certificates and compliance procedures.
* Prepare and distribute project reports, including status updates, risk assessments, and financial summaries.
1. Stakeholder Communication:
* Act as the primary point of contact for project-related queries from clients, contractors, and team members.
* Organise and facilitate project meetings, ensuring clear communication and follow-up on action items.
1. Resource Management:
* Coordinate the allocation of resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel, to meet project requirements.
* Support Project Manager with the tracking of project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
1. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
* Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
* Organise site visits to ensure critical tasks are completed in necessary timelines for project success.
1. Problem Solving and Risk Management:
* Identify potential risks and issues early, proposing solutions to mitigate delays or cost overruns.
* Support the resolution of on-site challenges in collaboration with project managers and contractors.
A BIT ABOUT YOU
Experience:
* Proven experience as a Project Co-Ordinator or similar role, preferably in the construction or renewable energy sector.
* Familiarity with solar energy systems, electrical infrastructure, or construction projects is highly desirable.
Knowledge:
* Understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements in the construction and energy sectors is desired.
* Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, such as solar PV systems and battery storage, is a plus.
* Show a keen interest in renewables and aligning with company values of providing a sustainable future.
Skills:
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (e.g., MS Project, ClickUp, Asana or similar).
* Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
Desired Qualifications
Education:
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
* Certification in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) is advantageous but not essential.
Experience:
* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial management, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
* Proven experience in negotiating and managing complex contracts, including PPAs, EPC, and O&M agreements.
* Strong financial acumen with experience in financial modelling and project valuation.
* Excellent understanding of renewable energy markets, regulations, and technologies.
* Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial modelling tools.
