We have an enthusiastic F&B Team at Tredegar but need an experienced leader with strong people management skills to motivate, inspire and steer the team in the right direction. Along with leading your team, you'll work closely with the wider property team at Tredegar House to ensure a cohesive 'one team' approach and an exceptional holistic visitor experience. You'll also work closely with your F&B Area Manager (your line manager), as well as collaborate with and support the wider South Wales F&B Team

An annualised contract means you will be paid 1/12th of your annual salary each month, but the hours you work each month will vary. Our opening hours are longer during the spring and summer (10:00-17:00) so you will likely work around 42.5 hours per week during this period, and around 32.5 hours per weeks during the autumn and winter when we are open for a shorter time (10:00-16:00). Across the course of the year, you will work 1950 hours. You will be required to regular weekends, bank holidays & school holidays. You will work 5 days per week, there are no split shifts and only minimal early evening work will be required to accommodate occasional events.
Salary:£31,000-£34,000 dependent on experience

Around 700,000 people visit Tredegar every year, the property has a bustling 80-seater cafe The Brewhouse which is open all year round and is located outside the pay barrier, this means the public can visit the café alongside National Trust members and visitors.We also have a take-away outlet which adjoins The Brewhouse and is open weekends and school holidays during the spring and summer.We have external seating for approximately 200 people.We are opening a third outlet this summer, located in the parkland next to a new childrens play area.There is also opportunity to develop additional F&B outlets and pop-ups across the property.With 50% sales growth forecast within the next 3 years, this is an exciting time for an experienced Food & Beverage professional to join our team.
What you'll be doing
As Food and Beverage Manager, youll lead and support your team at one of the National Trusts busy visitor attractions. This involves handling things behind the scenes, from administration to developing people and everything in between. Youll be championing outstanding customer service and keeping presentation standards high, to help give all our visitors an enjoyable day.
You'll be responsible for leading and running our café on a day-to-day basis, so the team can get on with doing what they do best. Its a busy, lively place, and we want to make sure that we always give visitors the best service every time.
Youll help to build a great place to work for your team. Youll recruit and train versatile and hard-working people, and encourage high achievement by setting objectives and reviewing their performance. You might also be needed to support the wider property team from time to time.
Youll work with the Area Manager to set and achieve financial targets that will increase profitability, as well as overseeing results and acting when needed. Where you can, you'll find ways to improve things, based on feedback from the team and visitors.
Well give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.

* experienced as a leader with proven coaching and team development skills, setting personal objectives and conducting development reviews
* financial acumen with the ability to set and manage budgets, increasing income and controlling costs (including managing stock and waste)

* aware of health and safety regulations and legislations and maintaining compliance
