Director of Workforce Strategy and Business Transformation (HR)
Salary - £77,591.51 + £4,610.64 Car Allowance
Ark is a major provider of Care and Support to people with long term and enduring conditions such as learning disability, mental health issues, dementia and autism. As a housing association, we are one of the smaller providers in Scotland, currently employing circa 750 staff across thirteen local authority areas.
Our aim is to ensure that those who use our services get the very best out of Ark to enable them to live a good life and provide the best quality of housing to our tenants, some of whom we support.
An exciting opportunity has arisen as we seek to recruit a Director of Workforce Strategy & Business Transformation, based in Ark’s Edinburgh Office and working from home. The role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
The post holder will work with the Executive Team to drive Ark towards realising the aspirations of its vision and mission, ensuring that the values of the organisation resonate throughout all behaviours and activities.
As a member of the Executive Team, your primary role is to provide strategic leadership that delivers good governance for Ark Group and our subsidiary companies (Ark Services Ltd and Ark Commercial Investments Ltd), and to implement risk-managed strategic plans that ensure the continued development of the organisation within viable and sustainable operating models.
The Director of Workforce Strategy and Business Transformation will be responsible for creating and leading Ark’s workforce strategy, transforming and shaping Ark’s future workforce to support the delivery of our strategic priorities within financially sustainable frameworks.
This role will also lead Ark’s approaches to business performance, ensuring effective implementation of frameworks that provide performance reports on the delivery of strategies, strategic objectives, and operational performance across the organisation. The Director will ensure that the Executive Team and Board of Management can use data and reports to drive continuous improvement across the organisation.
As a member of the Executive Team, the post holder will ensure that Ark provides services and developments of the highest standard—safe, compliant, cost-effective, and responsive to the needs of the people we support and tenants. You are responsible for the proper safeguarding of public money in pursuit of the organisation's aims.
This is an exciting yet challenging time to join Ark. We are an ambitious organisation that seeks to develop a future for our customers and employees, positively impacting their lives. These ambitions are against a backdrop of significant challenges within the sectors Ark operates, and this post will be key to leading the transformation required to overcome these challenges.
If you’d like to discuss the opportunity and find out more about the role, please contact Lindsay Fallon via email at lindsay.fallon@arkha.org.uk to arrange a time to speak with Bobby Duffy, Chief Executive Officer.
Please note that Chartered Membership of the CIPD is an essential requirement.

Working towards equal opportunities and a diverse workforce.
