About the role
As the Engagement and Communications Officer, you'll be working closely with the Senior Sector Development & Promotion Officer to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and business growth. You will support various marketing initiatives, contributing to the overall success of LCC passenger transport campaigns.
A typical week involves assisting with marketing campaign execution, project management, content creation for social media and print, research for new projects, and liaising with departments and external partners to ensure cohesive marketing efforts. You'll also manage website updates, analyse campaign performance, and support event planning, some of which you will be able to see come to fruition by attending.
About you
You are an organised and creative professional, skilled at managing conflicting priorities with a solution-oriented approach. Your ability to remain responsive and adaptable enables you to excel in a fast-paced environment, always ready to innovate and think creatively to drive effective outcomes.
You will bring excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and editorial expertise. With a creative mindset and solid project management skills you will be confident in managing multiple projects effectively. Self-motivated and collaborative in your approach you will be welcomed to share your thoughts and ideas contributing to the continued improvement and success of the service.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite to include, Teams, and social media is essential, as is an understanding of the broader context of the Council’s strategic decisions and their wider impact. If you can bring knowledge and experience of Canva, Photoshop and WordPress even better!
If you’re passionate about marketing and eager to grow your expertise—particularly with digital marketing tools and platforms—we encourage you to apply. Your commitment to continuous improvement will make you a valuable addition to our team.
A flexible approach is required by the team as occasional evenings or weekends for events is required. Training will be provided to support development in necessary areas. You'll also need a valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle as you will need to be mobile across the county.
About the team
You’ll be joining an award-winning team of friendly, supportive, and experienced officers committed to delivering excellent service. In September 2024, the team was honoured with the Visual Impact Award and the Creative Excellence Award by Bus Users UK. Bringing extensive knowledge and a collaborative spirit to each project, this team works closely under the guidance of the Network Design Manager, ensuring you’ll be well-supported in an environment that values teamwork, growth, and innovation.
