We have a brand new and exciting job opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to join the Facilities Department at Siddington Park
Job Description
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar position or have a multi-trade background with "hands-on" experience of working in a diverse environment. They will need a proactive approach to work to ensure our properties are suitably maintained to our high standards. They will be friendly and approachable with a "can-do" attitude and be prepared to see problems through until they are fixed. You will join us at a very exciting time and be involved in the commissioning of our brand-new Retirement Village

Responsibilities:
* To assist and work with colleagues with the general maintenance and upkeep of the village by carrying out planned and day to day reactive maintenance tasks in a commercial and residential environment.
* In line with experience, diagnose faults and deliver effective solutions to our residents.
* Undertake allocated general repairs, modernisation, painting & decorating or other associated works within agreed timescales to exceptional standards whilst working under minimal supervision.
* Monitor and work with contractors to ensure their tasks are completed as per requirements.
* To assist and support other trades as and when required.
* Be part of a weekend on-call maintenance rota, after appropriate training.
* Assist with compliance of all health and safety and fire regulations across the site
* Occasional driving of Village Vehicle to assist with resident trips or village activities.
Skills and Experience:
* Experience - within a maintenance team or similar in a commercial/residential environment, including self-employment
* An understanding of planned and preventative maintenance schedules
* Practical working knowledge of all aspects of maintenance, health & safety and fire regulations and legislation
* Be customer focused with excellent communication skills
* Very hands-on person, self-motivated, with a very proactive approach to maintenance
* Keen eye for detail
* Confident and IT literate (Microsoft products)
* Able to work with minimal supervision
* (Desirable) Experience of working with Building Management Systems (BMS)
Training will be provided
Qualifications:
* City & Guilds / NVQ in a relevant trade (desirable not essential)
This is a full-time permanent position. Working hours will be 37.5 over 5 days with some weekends and bank holidays on an on-call rota basis. Candidates must be physically able to carry out relatively hazardous tasks e.g. working at height and may also be required to be on-call for out of hour’s emergency response.
Due to the nature of the environment the successful candidate will be required to undertake a DBS check - paid for by us.
