NOC Support Operative Terminals
Job Title: National Operations Center, NOC Support Operative
Location: Base salary - £33738 including shift allowance. Plus, overtime given OTE £40000 per annum.
Main Purpose of Job
To assist with both internal & external customers of the Vehicle Booking System (VBS), Gate Management system (GMS), Transport Operating System (TOPS), Terminal operating system (IPRO) and general traffic office administration by providing a professional & efficient customer service.
Relationships: Reports to NOC Support Supervisor
Main Tasks of Job
1. Handling of customer enquiries with regards to help & support in the use of the VBS system.
2. Provide training for new internal or external users of the VBS system.
3. VBS exception management, dealing with issues arising from VBS booking pre or during the gate process.
4. Maintain accurate data within the VBS undertaking account creation & deletion where necessary.
5. Provide constructive feedback on new functionality & undertake testing within the VBS system before it is made available to the end users.
6. Gate Management System exception management, dealing with all issues in the GMS for example container or size/type read.
7. Controlling internal truck access in GMS where VBS bookings are not required.
8. Handling of COREOR (EDI) exceptions for release & acceptance references.
9. Maintain accurate data within Fresh Service ticket management system.
10. Follow step by step diagnostics.
11. Implementing back up processes when applicable.
12. Perform general traffic office admin duties when required.
13. Visually check containers and ensure dangerous and hazardous goods are declared and properly labelled.
14. Input data to the relevant operational computer systems (TOPS, IPRO ETC) so that container movement records & container storage records are kept accurate and up to date. Utilise the systems functionality to plan rail container movements.
15. Providing first line support for IPRO (Main operating system) for terminal operatives.
Subject to competence/skill you may be required to perform any other tasks that are commensurate with your grade.
Key Skills Requirements (knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications)
1. Must be prepared to work shift patterns across a 24/7 time-period.
2. Apply a diplomatic and tactful approach to resolving any associated conflict management situations e.g., customers, both internal & external.
3. Knowledge of tops road would be preferred, but not essential.
4. Demonstrate a strong customer service focus.
5. Possess a good understanding of company requirements and confidence with regard to associated responsibilities.
6. Highly organised and able to work to challenging deadlines whilst maintaining compliance.
7. Proficient in the use of standard industry software including a good working knowledge of Excel.
8. Good working knowledge of G&W Operating Systems.
9. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team together with the ability to problem solve for customers.
10. Good oral and written communication skills.
11. Accurate with the input of numerical data.
