This role is a full-time opportunity, flexible working patterns will be considered. There is travelling required, and a min of 2 days a week in the office. A Project Manager with a track record of successfully delivering complex digital transformations who can work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across the business and wider industry, bringing energy, enthusiasm, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile. About The Role (External) About the team The railway exists to deliver the best possible service to passengers and freight customers. As the climate changes, the number of service affecting incidents increases. We must do more to run a safe, more reliable and more affordable railway for the nation – whatever the weather. The Weather Risk Task Force, based in the national weather directorate, exists to deliver the projects that will make a real difference for passengers today, tomorrow and in the future. We deliver new tools and processes, coordinate route/regional action and assure that every penny of our investment results in a simpler, better, greener service. What does the average day look like? Supported by the Weather Risk Task force leadership team you will be expected to drive the ROWS delivery team and its multiple suppliers to hit milestones to cost and schedule. You will work with business change to coordinate a phased operational roll-out that is manageable for the business. Ultimately, each day will be different, challenging, but rewarding, and require a relentless focus on incremental progress to deliver a new weather forecasting service that enables improved operational decision making. Essential Criteria Degree or equivalent Team leader capable of motivating the team Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Relevant successful experience in complex digital transformation projects Understanding of end-to-end project delivery, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-implementation review. Managing quality gate reviews and artefacts needed to be produced to ensure the deliverables meet predefined standards and all approvals are secured. Ability to engage and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Effectively managing and tracking RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies). Experience in generating accurate, timely reports for different levels of Stakeholders, providing clear insights on project progress, performance metrics, risks, and milestones to support informed decision-making. Desirable Criteria In-depth understanding of commercial and financial processes, including expertise in forecasting and monitoring of actuals.
