We are seeking a passionate and driven Theatre Practitioner to be part of our dedicated team, working full-time on a permanent basis. You will have the chance to shape your career while providing high-quality, patient-focused care in a flexible and varied inpatient theatre environment.
As a Theatre Practitioner, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality patient-focused care, providing and maintaining a safe environment for all patients attending theatres and coordinating and facilitating inpatient care with minimal supervision, acting as a role model, and working with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
You will be given supportive training and guidance to feel confident in your role and to excel in delivering safe, high-quality patient care within an environment that values your skills.
Main duties of the job
* You will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality patient-focused care; providing and maintaining a safe environment for all patients attending theatres and performing comprehensive assessments of patients’ intra-operative care.
* Coordinating and carrying out perioperative care with minimal supervision, acting as a role model and working with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
* Responsible for planning the workload for a theatre list, considering the efficient and effective use of all available resources.
* Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in achieving a high standard of patient care and having a positive impact on patients’ perioperative journey.
* You will work and perform all aspects of the scrub and circulating role within theatre delivering quality of care and maintenance of standards.
* Supervision of students of Nursing, Operating Department Practitioners, nurses on adaptation programmes and post-registration learners.
* Act as a team leader within theatres and coordinate the department in the absence of Band 6 under supervision of Band 7.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
We are looking for candidates with a background in theatre and welcome applications for those who are also anaesthetically trained (either as ODPs or who have done the Anaesthetic bolt-on course) and are registered with both NMC and/or HCPC, provided they possess the required experience and qualifications.

* Registered Nurse (NMC) / Registered Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC)
* Principles of Anaesthesia Care +/- equivalent
Knowledge and experience
* Ability to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care
* Evidence of continuous education and professional development

* Multiskilling – demonstrate competency in anaesthetics, surgery, and recovery
