Main duties of the job
You will be involved in a broad range of activities in the Pharmacy department as part of the stock distribution team. There will be a requirement to provide stock replenishment services for a range of customers including Community Services. You must have a good standard of general education and have attained a GCSE grade C or above in Mathematics and English (or equivalent). You must be suitable to undertake and achieve a Level 2 Pharmacy qualification.
You will need to possess excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, and have a flexible approach to work. Attention to detail is important, and you must be able to work as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative to work in a professional and timely manner. You must be able to work well under pressure. Computer literacy is required, although appropriate training on pharmacy systems will be provided.
Job responsibilities
* Participate in day-to-day routine activities of the distribution and ward services under the supervision of the Distribution Lead, in line with current policies and procedures.
* Assist in the delivery of an efficient distribution service to Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and other commissioned services.
* Work independently following standard operating procedures after competency assessment.
* Share responsibility for reducing waste and expenditure.
* This role requires long periods of activity and heavy lifting.
* Undertake and complete a Pharmacy Level 2 qualification.
* Participate in weekend and early/late night rotas as required.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* GCSE grade C in Mathematics and English or equivalent.
Knowledge and Experience
* Evidence of general work experience.
Skills and Ability
* Ability to work methodically and accurately under pressure.
* Ability to organise and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Good communication skills both oral and written.
* Ability to use initiative and work with minimum supervision.
* Computer literacy and keyboard skills.
