Job summary We are currently looking to employ Qualified Ambulance Technicians to join the team at EMAS NHS Trust. As an Ambulance Technician you will serve our diverse community responding to 999 calls as part of an emergency ambulance crew. You will deal with a range of different people and situations and use clinical guidelines to manage and direct patients to the most appropriate care pathway. Main duties of the job As an Ambulance Technician you will serve our community responding to 999 calls as part of an emergency ambulance crew. You will deal with a range of different people and situations and use clinical guidelines to manage and direct patients to the most appropriate care pathway. AFC Band 5 (£28,407 - £34,581) unsocial hours enhancement as per the current Agenda for Change terms and conditions of service. Attend cases of accident and sudden illness and respond to urgent, special and planned patient transfer requests. Use advanced driving skills under blue light and normal traffic conditions to respond to emergency and routine calls as required. Delivery of high quality and effective clinical and personal care and the transportation of patients, selecting and applying appropriate equipment and skills in line with the scope of practice and associated training. Working as a crew or solo, you will initiate appropriate care and effective treatment to patients in both hospital and pre-hospital environment, selecting and applying appropriate skills and equipment safely and within appropriate level of training, competency and scope of practice. You will already hold your fullC1 category on your driving licenceand you will need to provide evidence that you have completed anationally recognised emergency driving qualification allowing you to drive under blue light conditions in a C1 size vehicle.
