The Opportunity:
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about technology and customer service to join our small, friendly Media Team as a Service Manager (Media Services). This exciting role will enable someone to push boundaries and gain experience in an exciting and inspiring environment.
The successful candidate will manage our Lecture Recording service, taking the lead in discovering how we use video solutions to improve learning and teaching in one of the country’s top universities. This is a great opportunity for either an experienced Service Manager or an individual with a background in technology looking to grow and develop within the role.
The role offers a salary of £40,247 – £47,874 pa and has a hybrid-working pattern, involving working on-campus in Edinburgh at least two days a week. Working hours are ideally 35hrs per week, but the team are committed to offering flexibility so we would be happy to consider options like compressed hours or staggered start/finish times.
What you’d be doing on the job:
· Working with multidisciplinary teams to determine how we improve our media services
· Ensuring content is accessible, providing effective technical support and communicating with users across a large, diverse organisation.
· Providing operational service management, training, support, and advice on using media services across the University.
· Managing supplier relationships and managing business-critical services.
· Managing an essential service which is crucial to providing accessible and inclusive learning to our students.

· Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
· Good interpersonal and people management skills
· A strong, demonstrable interest in new developments in media and technology
· Good analytical and problem-solving skills
· Confident in your ability to learn and become proficient with new IT systems and processes

About the Team
The Learning, Teaching & Web Services Directorate (LTW) brings together technology enhanced learning, e-learning, the University website, web services, graphics, multimedia, digital skills training and classroom technology teams to support learning, teaching and outreach for an enhanced student experience.
We provide a wide range of technology and support services for innovative learning and teaching, including classroom tools, virtual learning environment (VLE), blended learning, bespoke development, online video, open educational resources (OER), taught online Masters programmes, massive open online courses (MOOCs), feedback and assessment. We manage the continuing expansion and diversification of the University website, student portal, and provide digital technology services in 400 teaching rooms and study spaces across the campus.
Every year we host student internships, projects and events which promote innovation and align with the University strategic aims to promote new ways of working in learning, teaching and research.
