Senior Electrical Engineer (GIS / UK GRID)

Turner Lovell are recruiting for a Senior Engineer with vast industry experience on GIS switchgear. The Senior Engineer will provide technical advice regarding GIS detailed designs, work with both factory & client to ensure successful delivery of the product. Our client is an international engineering and construction firm, with a wide range of projects throughout the UK and Europe.
This role will suit someone with GIS switchgear design experience on HV Grid projects with the ability and confidence to work independently developing and maintaining factory/client relationships as well as assessing feasibility of the solution.
In this role, you will be working with the site team to successfully deliver the electrical installation works of the project. The role will also involve input into the design process, technical discussions with the client and design amendment suggestions.
Responsibilities:
To be able to collaboratively create detailed designs / specifications for GIS switchgear installation on site.
To work together with both the factory teams manufacturing the GIS switchgear and the client wanting to install the systems on site
Review of drawings provided by designers for safety, cost effectiveness, maintainability, and other considerations;
Participate in reviewing of the drawings provided by designers for safety, cost effectiveness, maintainability, and other considerations;
Develop / talk through Single Line Diagrams & Load Lists with the client
Ensure that equipment meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.Requirements:
5+ years GIS switchgear experience (ABB, Schneider, Siemens, Mitsubishi, GE)
Electrical Engineering / Electrical Design or equivalent qualification
Experience working/collaborating with clients in the UK & Europe on design specifications
Strong understanding of current industry standards and regulations
Proficiency in electrical engineering principles and using software such as ETAP, AutoCAD, PSCAD or similar tools.
