About the Role
Main Purpose: To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing occupational therapy input to service users with ABI, leading the OT provision within the service, and liaising with both internal and external professionals, as well as family members and service users.
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of service users with complex mental/physical health needs and/or challenging behaviour.
* Provide evidence-based interventions and assessments tailored to each service user’s needs.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate therapeutic programmes, ensuring that treatment is aligned with neurobehavioral models.
* Delegate tasks to colleagues according to their competencies and oversee their progress.
* Perform detailed risk assessments and keep these regularly updated.
* Work with external agencies and family members to ensure service users receive comprehensive care.
* Support and supervise junior colleagues and other healthcare professionals as required.
* Carry out interventions that address the service users' social, lifestyle, and occupational needs.
Qualifications
A diploma or degree in occupational therapy and be registered with the HCPC.
Required Skills
* Expertise in neurological rehabilitation and the ability to work autonomously.
* Experience prioritising and managing a complex caseload.
* Excellent communication skills, including report writing and formulation of complex risk assessments.
