Main purpose of the role:
Ensure the Checkout Department operates efficiently and effectively at all times and provide our customers with excellent customer service.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
1. 2 years' experience in a retail role is desirable
2. Ability to balance tills
3. Excellent communication skills
4. Ability to engage with and prioritise customer needs
5. Strong attention to detail, organised and flexible
6. Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Main Duties:
1. Actively live SuperValu brand-values i.e. Genuine, Passion for Food, Vibrant, Committed, Innovative and Imaginative
2. Use a computerised till system that has a barcode scanner
3. Weigh and price products such as fruit and vegetables
4. Check customers' ages for restrictions on items such as alcohol
5. Pack customer's purchases
6. Process store loyalty cards, coupons and vouchers
7. Take payments and make sure the till balances at the end of the day
8. Spend time away from the till, stocking shelves and checking stock
9. Merchandise and present the department to the highest standard at all times
10. Attend and engage in team meetings and implement any learnings
Contract Details:
3 MONTH CONTRACT - NOVEMBER 2024 - JANUARY 2025
TYPICAL SHIFTS: 7.30AM - 3.15PM / 9.30AM - 3.15PM / 11.30AM - 5.30PM / 3.15PM - 9.15PM
3 - 4 DAYS PER WEEK, MONDAY - SUNDAY
