The boutique school is in George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands and supports students Year 1- 9 who have a range of additional learning support needs including dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyslexia, ADHD, students diagnosed with Autism and SEMH needs.
The school’s approach to learning is threefold and consist of a hand-on student centered approach to the National Curriculum of England, evidence-based intervention in literacy and numeracy, and cognitive enhancement support to address underlying cognitive functions, ultimately making learning more efficient. The bespoke approach to learning facilitates student growth in self-confidence and preparation to take on new challenges in school and life.
The Teacher must:
• be an exceptional classroom practitioner, with knowledge and experience working with students with additional learning support needs including SEND and SEMH. Qualifications in Special Education Needs or in SEMH highly preferred.
• have a strong commitment to raising standards and improving the quality of teaching and learning for all students by staying current in best practices
• have a passion for innovative strategies to engage students in "real-life" hands-on experiences and reflection through Project Based Learning and Experiential Learning.
• be fully committed to developing effective independence for students beyond school
• support school leadership in operational and academic matters including comprehensive development of lesson plans to support the on-going development of a student-centered curriculum
• have experience in data analysis and its use to successfully support school improvement and impactful change
• be responsive, highly approachable and can inspire colleagues, students, and their families
• have a full understanding of processes involving children in care, child protection and safeguarding and be committed to working in partnerships
The remuneration for primary teachers is CI $40,000- $42,500 per annum commensurate with experience. Other benefits include medical insurance and contribution to a pension plan.
