The Head of Clinical Systems is a key role within IM& T at WVT with responsibility for managing the Clinical System Management Team. The team is responsible for managing clinical systems to ensure our teams, operational, clinical, and administration staff, are able to provide digitally enabled patient care.
Key to the role are team development skills, especially those that can support the optimisation of clinical systems. Essential is the ability to work collaboratively, both internally with the IM& T Project team and externally with Group and ICB colleagues and system suppliers. As a Senior member of the IM& T team, the postholder is expected to support the Associate Director with local digital strategy and provide expertise on advanced clinical systems.
Main duties of the job
1. To manage the Clinical Systems team to ensure clinical systems are safe, efficient, and effective for staff within the organisation.
2. To have overall responsibility for configuration, testing, and maintenance activities of clinical systems, ensuring that they are safe in clinical practice.
3. To manage resources within the team to ensure training, optimisation, and development is managed within available resources.
4. Lead on ensuring clinical systems are optimised for use, ensuring good communication is provided to all, including external stakeholders and suppliers.

* Masters/Higher level degree or equivalent experience
* Practitioner level accreditation in ITIL or equivalent

* Practitioner level accreditation in PRINCE 2 project management or equivalent

* Evidence of successful budgetary management of teams
* Previous service improvement or process redesign work ideally using IT as an enabler
