JOB TITLE: Assistant Data Discovery and Cataloguing Manager
LOCATION(S): Bristol / Birmingham / Edinburgh
HOURS: Full Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our Hub locations.

Key responsibilities
* Document metadata in the Group’s metadata repository and assist colleagues in consistently documenting and managing metadata according to group standards.
* Describe data in a central data catalogue to enhance discoverability and usability.
* Lead documentation of Business and technical data dictionaries and lineage identified Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and ensure they are appropriately governed.
* Promote the Group Metadata repository, enabling Data Owners, Data Consumers, and other stakeholders to derive further value from data and automate the monitoring of progress.
* Support business areas in metadata documentation and Data cataloguing practices.
* Assist in designing and developing metadata reporting solutions.
* Support in developing, embedding, and monitoring the adoption of the metadata management framework.
* Assist in developing and embedding metadata management and governance processes.
* Champion the use of Group Data management tools.
* Provide oversight to ensure effective data risk management activities across the organisation.
What you’ll need
* Ability to understand organisational challenges and opportunities through data cataloguing and maintaining data lineage.
* Experience of data-centric change programs is preferred.
* Knowledge of databases and querying SQL is preferred.
* Knowledge of Data Management principles and practices (e.g., Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Governance/Privacy).
* Good knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint is required.
