Overview
MCL have a vacancy for a Piping Materials Engineer on a Plastics Pyrolysis Project for their Oil and Gas client.
Duration: Initial 6 month contract with an immediate start
Location: Leatherhead, Surrey
The role will be based in the clients Offices in Leatherhead. Hybrid working (3 days in the office minimum). This is non-negotiable due to the project and client requirements.
Rate: Ltd Company rate to the man of circa £60.00 per hour
The role is likely to be outside IR35 but the final decision will be made after a Qdos assessment.

Responsibilities
1. Develop deliverables including Piping Material Classes, Technical Specifications and Requisitions.
2. Create/amend technical specifications for new equipment scope, utilizing expert inputs where applicable.
3. Interface with other engineering disciplines as well as supporting disciplines.
4. Work individually or as part of a team in the home office and possibly abroad.
5. Communicate effectively with other engineering disciplines.
6. Adhere to Clients' engineering standards and procedures as well as provide input to their development and enhancement.
7. Perform surveillance and approval of contractor deliverables and design activities.
8. Lead contract technical and project meetings.
9. Resolution activities for multi-disciplinary technical issues and queries.
Skills / Experience
1. Essential
2. Knowledge of applicable industry standards (ASME B31.3, API, BS EN etc).
3. Working knowledge of PED 2014/68/EU.
4. Technical knowledge of different Valves and Special Piping Items.
5. Package Responsible Engineer with experience working with valves.
6. Strong technical understanding of valves and project execution methodologies.
7. Experience on large EPC projects.
8. Keen to knowledge share with Engineers located in Leatherhead and in other offices.
9. Good communication skills.
Qualifications
1. Mechanical Engineering Degree (BEng) or Material Engineering Degree (BEng).
2. Chartered Engineer Status (desirable).
