Our client is a global player in their market, employing over 10,000 colleagues worldwide. They operate from a range of diverse and remote sites all over Scotland, it is a complex and high risk environment, where health and safety is everyone’s first priority.
In the context of this dynamic operating environment, we are seeking to appoint a passionate and forward thinking Head of Health & Safety for their Scotland operations. Safety and health is primary in everything they do – and essential to their employees, their families, the community and customers.
The role will be responsible for developing and driving a collaborative safety first culture, ensuring excellent standards and practises across the business, providing clear priorities and goals focused on minimising risk; as well as the development and continuous evolution of health and safety strategy.
The role will require travel across Western Scotland. Through excellent influencing and leadership skills, you will provide direction to their 1000+ employees and managers to ensure compliance with and continuous improvement of health & safety culture. You will continue to drive a safety first attitude which is focussed on proactivity and engagement.

Experience required:
* A strong track record of Health & Safety management at senior leadership level
* A background in high risk, complex environments, working across a range of locations and geographies
* An understanding of large organisations and how to ensure effective policy implementation.
* Experience in a maritime, aviation and/or manufacturing environment is highly desirable
* Comprehensive understanding of current legislation relevant to industry / environment
