In this role, you will lead a team of Practice Educators to oversee clinical placements and ensure that health and social care students receive the education, experience, and support they need to thrive and develop into caring, competent and resilient practitioners fit for the future. You will be a registered mental health or learning disabilities nurse or AHP with extensive post-registration experience. You will be able to motivate, inspire and support students in developing their clinical and professional skills and planning their career. We are looking for an individual who can inform, inspire and lead, working closely and collaboratively with colleagues and clinical teams, and education partners. Using a strengths-based approach, you'll be confident at solving problems, and possess an ability to develop new approaches. Main duties of the job Lead and manage a team of Practice Educators, Legacy Practice Assessors, and Placement Administrators. Oversee the allocation of clinical placements and ensure students receive the highest quality support from Clinical Assessors, Supervisors, and Practice Educators. Foster effective communication and build strong relationships with clinical colleagues, managers, assessors, supervisors, and education providers. Liaise between learners, clinical managers, assessors, and Higher Education Institutions and work creatively to create new placement opportunities and to relieve capacity issues. Audit placements to ensure alignment with best practice guidance and Safe Learning Environment Charter standards. Promote a positive, supportive, and collaborative learning environment for students and clinical staff in line with the Educator Workforce Strategy and in response to feedback from learners via the National Education and Training Survey and other feedback mechanisms. Provide regular support and early interventions as needed and escalate concerns as appropriate using agreed processes. This role is based within the practice education team and sits alongside a range of development programmes delivered by this team.
