Behaviour and Mental Health Support
Are you looking to make a difference in the lives of young children? Are you patient, calm and proactive?
A friendly school in Oxford is looking to add a Behaviour and Mental Health Support assistant to their staff starting as soon as possible.
The Role:
The successful Behaviour and Mental Health Support assistant will assist and support students who struggle with their behaviour. These students may have trauma, anxiety, and depression, making it difficult for them to cope. They particularly struggle with regulating and processing their emotions and managing their behaviour.
Day to Day:
The Behaviour and Mental Health Support assistant will help the students with their daily tasks. You will be supported by the class teacher and will also assist with general class duties, including setting up for lessons, clearing up afterwards, and managing classroom behaviour. This will be done on either a 1:1 basis or in a small group setting, making a significant difference in these children's lives.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be proactive, patient, adaptable, and thrive in fast-paced environments. You must be determined, confident, and passionate about education and helping vulnerable children.
Previous experience working with children who present challenging behaviour is preferred. However, attitude and personality are equally important, as you will be a role model for these children.
Aspiring psychologists, therapists, and counsellors will greatly benefit from this role as it adds valuable experience to your skill set. Graduates and individuals with a background in sports, art, or drama are also encouraged to apply.
