What skills and experience we're looking for
We wish to employ a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, to support a child with additional learning needs. They will be a key adult for the child.
The successful candidate will have experience with children with complex needs.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as a one to one or one to two for a child/children
• Build a strong relationship with the child you are working with
• Implement interventions to support sensory, cognitive and language development
• Under the guidance of the teacher/SENCO, carry out activities/tasks to support the child’s development
• Where required, support other children in the setting
• Attend any relevant CPD sessions
• Alongside the SENCO contribute to One Page Profiles
• Build a strong relationship with the child’s family and other relevant agencies/professionals
• Consistently and effectively implementing agreed behaviour management strategies
• Helping to make appropriate resources to support the pupil
• Support key children to integrate in the classroom and build relationships with peers
EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL:
• Have a relevant EYFS qualification as per the regulations set out in the early years foundation stage )EYFS) statutory framework.
• Have an excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
• Have a good understanding of continuous provision and the role in plays in the EYFS curriculum
• Encourage and motivate all children, whatever their background and ability, to reach their full potential
• Be resilient, positive and enthusiastic about education
• Think and act creatively to make sure learning is motivated, successful and fun
• Have high expectations of themselves and pupils
• Have high standards and have strengths in English and Maths
• Be willing to work collaboratively with other teachers within the trust
