The appointment is to commence ASAP for a fixed term period of 12 months from the date of commencement. FRCS (Plast), FEBOPRAS or overseas equivalent is essential. The post does not award a National Training Number. As this post is not recognised as a 'training post', full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required. The duties of this post are appropriate to an individual holding a Certificate of Completion of Training or quite close to this stage (ST6+).

Qualifications
Essential
* Registered (or eligible to be registered) with the GMC with a licence to practise
* Basic Medical Degree
* Postgraduate professional qualifications: FRCS (Plast) or equivalent
Desirable
* On the specialist registry for plastic surgery
Clinical Experience
Essential
* Recent experience and familiarity of UK hospital systems and practices (or equivalent).
* Minimum of 4 years of plastic surgery training at a registrar level (ST6 +) or equivalent.
* Experience in microsurgery: preparation of recipient vessels, microanastomoses and management of free flaps
* Breast reconstruction and breast symmetrising procedures.
Desirable
* Can independently raise free flaps and perform micro-anastomosis
Research

* Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate/Basic understanding of research methods and statistics

* Publications in Peer reviewed journals.
