Main duties of the job To assist in the provision of an efficient, responsive and flexible service to support the secretarial team, consultants and their medical team, to assist in the smooth running, participation and efficient organisation of the daily routine duties in the Ophthalmology department. To provide a high volume of accurate and comprehensive typing of clinical letters, paying attention to detail at all times. To ensure the provision of the patient pathways, which is receptive to the needs of the patient and responsive to Trust requirements and national and local targets. To be responsible for office duties, including dealing with the post, scanning and filing patient documentation as necessary. To ensure excellent customer service by dealing with incoming telephone queries appropriately and in a timely manner, upholding confidentiality at all times. Provide assistance to the other members of the team and assist with their workloads as necessary.
