At Cavendish Nuclear we're working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Senior Electrical Controls and Instrumentation (EC&I) Designer, at either of our Warrington or Preston sites.
The role
As a Senior EC&I Designer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll provide support and technical guidance for a team of designers. The role will assure the quality of output to the required standards consistent with the whole lifecycle from concept to in-service support.
Day-to-day, you'll provide specialist technical advice and guidance to other designers, providing design governance for technical standards for a team. You'll work with a high degree of technical autonomy and promote effective co-operation across Design and other functional teams.
* Allocate tasks to Designers, check drawing outputs, and ensure coordination per company and regulatory standards.
* Manage customer relationships, resolve technical and delivery issues, and keep customers informed of progress.
* Prepare and produce drawings for basic, detail, and production design, meeting ISO standards and time, cost, and quality requirements.
* Resolve Production & Technical Queries, develop solutions for manufacturing and installation issues.
* Develop innovative design solutions and lead multi-discipline low-risk projects.
* Stay updated on industry developments, techniques, tools, integration, bill of material controls, and design maturity management.
Essential experience of the Senior EC&I Designer
* Experience in a detailed design environment
* Good knowledge of CAD tools
* Knowledge of General Engineering Drawing Practice
Qualifications for the Senior EC&I Designer
* HNC/HND minimum in a relevant discipline OR equivalent academic qualification
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
