Our Residential Support Workers create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop. You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy. It is key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.
We are seeking both qualified and unqualified Residential Support Workers to join our growing team. Please check the job description carefully to understand the expectations of your level of entry. About the service
As a Residential Support Worker in our Peterborough service, you'll be supporting the transition of a young person into their own forever home! Our approach is therapeutic, driven by love and a commitment to helping the young person thrive. We aim to integrate them into the community as much as possible by supporting and encouraging independence as they transition into adulthood.
How you'll help to create brighter futures
* Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing, and managing risk.
* Co-ordinate responsibilities within the service, with multi-agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
* Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.
* Lead shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality service.
* Supervise and guide staff as required, in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures.
* Lead by example with the application of Action for Children's policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements.

* Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a 'can do' attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have:
* Experience of leading shifts in a care setting.
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent).
* Experience and training in safeguarding.
* An innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
* Experience of developing tailored care plans.
* The ability to create a safe and fun environment for both staff and children in the home and in the community.
