In our major projects function within Nuclear & Power, we are looking for a planner who can fulfil the following:
* Prepare project schedules - build and maintain a baseline schedule identifying critical path, resources, work breakdown structure, milestones, coding and document this in a Basis of Schedule.
* Participate and chair interactive planning workshops ensuring comprehensive schedules are developed using best practice and benchmarking data.
* Ensure all activities are logic linked and aligned with the project deliverables, project execution plan and contracting strategy.
* Update the schedule progress in accordance with processes and procedures validating the work completed.
* Identify and explain variances between current schedule, plan, earned value and forecasts and communicate these clearly to the project team.
* Work alongside the cost controller to identify key variances between the schedule and the costs.
* Work with the project team to identify resources and man hours required to complete the project activities and keep these updated throughout the project.
* Prepare project reports, trending charts, and schedule analysis on a periodic basis and lead progress communications and update meetings.
* Proficient in MS office suite of software, especially in Microsoft Excel.
* Preferable knowledge in Primavera P6 and ability to learn new software as and when required.
* Knowledge of project management techniques (i.e. critical path method, progress measurement and earned value technique).
* Preferable experience in project planning, analysis and reporting.
* Knowledge of adhering to policies and procedures.
* Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail - solid report writing, communication and presentation skills. Effective problem solving and strong analytical skills.
* Ability to work well with clients and stakeholders, as part of a project team, build and maintain good working relationships with all parties.
* Must have good communication skills and ability to lead meetings.
