The Resettlement Therapeutic Service London Borough of Lambeth is commissioning a resettlement therapeutic service for refugees resettled in Lambeth via Resettlement Schemes funded and overseen by the Home Office. The Service will offer therapeutic and psychological interventions to resettled refugees including individuals, groups and families. The Service model is built on a trauma and human rights-informed, preventative, holistic approach to supporting adults and families The Service is designed for early interventions that ensure psychological safety to reduce stress and enhance wellbeing. The aim is to secure emotional regulation and develop emotional awareness, improve confidence and resilience while settling into life in the UK. The service will offer individual one-to-one therapy, therapeutic and psycho-educational groups and workshops and will support children and families to regain and maintain their confidence and ability to live independent lives. Purpose of the Job: To offer a therapeutic intervention to include psycho-education groups, one-to-one therapy to adults and children. To provide a holistic assessment to refugee adult, children and young people who have been resettled in Lambeth. To liaise with educational and social care services as appropriate to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people being supported by Refugee Council. To offer consultation and awareness training to educational staff working with resettled refugees across the region. Take a lead on Project monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on outcomes to a high standard. Main Duties and Responsibilities: To provide assessments of refugee children/young people in order to formulate and implement plans for the treatment of the child or young person and adult’s mental health, based upon an appropriate theoretical framework. To provide risk assessments to adults and children/young people, ensuring safeguarding and care plans are in place, recording up-to-date case notes on client database. To provide a cultural and gender sensitive service that respond to the needs of clients from a wide range of backgrounds and countries. Working effectively with interpreters where clients require an interpreter in therapy, ensuring the interpreter is appropriately briefed and de-briefed.
