Overview Of The Role
The Head of IT (Acquired Companies) is a senior leadership role responsible for leading the IT integration strategy and execution during mergers and acquisitions, as well as overseeing the ongoing IT operations and digital transformation of acquired businesses. This individual will act as a bridge between the corporate IT organization and acquired entities, ensuring seamless technology integration, operational continuity, and alignment with the companys broader IT strategy.
The core duties & responsibilities the role will cover includes:
* Participate in due diligence processes to assess IT systems, infrastructure, and risks of target companies.
* Identify integration opportunities, synergies, and risks to support M&A decision-making.
* Develop cost estimates and timelines for IT integration activities.
* Design and execute IT integration strategies, including systems consolidation, data migration, and process alignment.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, HR, Operations, etc.) to ensure IT integration aligns with broader business goals.
* Lead change management efforts, including communication, training, and support for employees affected by IT changes in the acquired businesses.
* Establish governance frameworks for monitoring integration progress, addressing issues, and meeting milestones.
* Ensure the stability and performance of IT systems within acquired businesses during and after the integration process.
* Serve as a single point of accountability for all IT-related needs of the acquired businesses.
* Oversee IT service delivery, ensuring alignment with corporate SLAs, security standards, and compliance requirements.
* Align the IT strategy of acquired businesses with the companys overall technology roadmap.
* Identify opportunities to modernize, innovate, and improve IT systems and processes within acquired entities.
* Facilitate the adoption of enterprise-wide platforms, tools, and technologies in acquired businesses.
* Manage and mentor IT teams within acquired businesses, ensuring a high-performing, collaborative culture.
* Define resource needs and develop the organizational structure to support IT operations effectively.
* Operate as a key member of the IT Leadership team, driving collaboration and maximizing the use of group solutions within acquired businesses.

* Familiarity with IT compliance standards, such as GDPR, SOX, or ISO certifications.
* Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or IT service management (e.g., ITIL) is a plus.
