Job summary This post is for an experienced and motivated Consultant Radiologist with a sub-specialty interest in Cardiac and Chest Imaging to join our team. This role has scope to be tailored to suit your working preferences, including remote, full-time, or part-time options where possible. The successful candidate/s will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred imaging services, advancing cardiac imaging services, and contributing to the Trust's clinical excellence The post holder would be expected to share in the general workload of the department and develop special interests complimentary to those of existing Consultants locally and regionally. The post includes supervision and training of the specialist registrars. There will be participation in the acute general body on call rota, currently at a frequency of 1 in 13, with out-sourcing overnight. Work may take place across sites, there is the opportunity for working from home 1 day per week Main duties of the job Key Responsibilities Clinical Expertise : In addition to Body Radiology, provide subspecialty expert interpretation of Chest (HRCT, Contrast) and Cardiac /- Cardiac MRI studies, contributing to accurate, timely diagnoses and optimal patient care. The appointee will have experience in CT guided thoracic intervention (biopsies, drain insertion). Multidisciplinary Collaboration : Work closely with respiratory clinicians, cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and other multidisciplinary team members to support the diagnosis and treatment of chest and cardiac conditions. The appointee may be expected to contribute to clinical meetings. Teaching and Training : Support the teaching and training of radiology trainees, radiographers, and other halthcare professionals in cardiac and chest imaging. Quality Assurance : Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and participate in departmental audit, quality improvement, and governance activities to maintain high standards of patient safety and service delivery. Research and Innovation : Engage in or contribute to clinical research in cardiothoracic imaging, as well as support clinical trials and studies, where relevant.
