An opportunity has arisen within the Women's Clinical Service Unit to be a Specialist Midwife. The CSU is pleased to be recruiting additional specialist midwives to provide joint collaborative leadership within a service that already has an established programme for 'Saving babies lives'. Together, you will co-ordinate the Saving Babies Lives and perinatal mortality review programme for the service. The service has been highly praised for leading and implementing a successful programme for the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle V3. We are committed to improvement and learning. Therefore, this collaboration will devise ways to address the complex issues and help shape the further improvements required to reduce preterm birth, stillbirth, and pregnancy loss.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in maximising partnership working with existing team members such as Specialist Midwives for Quality & Safety, Bereavement Care, Diabetes, Safeguarding, Antenatal Screening, and Perinatal Mortality Review leads, both within and outside of the organisation.
Main duties of the job
You will jointly and collaboratively co-ordinate the implementation of key domains within the Saving Babies' Lives Care Bundle (SBLCBV3) and any subsequent National Maternity safety drivers which may supersede or complement it. The key objective of this post is to triangulate data and information from within Quality & Safety reviews, ensuring this is captured to support the completion of data for Perinatal Mortality Reviews as part of MBRRACE UK data collection for BTHFT.
You will support the Multi-Disciplinary Team and complement the existing Safer Maternity Care Midwife in driving, evaluating, and providing assurance for the Saving Babies Lives programme.
You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, both internal and external, communicating with agencies and user representatives, acting as a representative on external forums when required and collating information in the required format, uploading data to the NHS Futures platform and MBRRACE UK, ensuring that data can be easily accessed by key stakeholders.
You will represent the service and present the progress with SBLCBV3 at West Yorkshire and Harrogate (WY&H) and LMNS, Yorkshire and Humber Maternity Neonatal Network and National level where appropriate.
The post holder will be an experienced midwife that is clinically credible and able to support the service in times of escalation, participating in the Senior Midwife on-call maternity rota and Bed Manager role.
