N1503 Senior Commissioning Officer - Role Profile
Strategic Commissioning is key to supporting and leading change, and Plymouth City Council’s Adults, Health and Communities Directorate is looking for a Senior Commissioning Officer to support our ambitious programme of transformation of services for vulnerable children and adults.
The role will involve leading on the co-design of services with our partners and those who use services, developing specifications, determining routes to market, working with procurement colleagues and ongoing provider relationship management.
You will work closely with the Strategic Commissioning Manager to deliver key commissioning programmes, including procurement of services, developing, and embedding systems and driving market transformation. We are looking for commissioners with a passion for getting it right for the people we serve and bringing innovative ideas and approaches to how we deliver our services. You will support the leadership of the team and task manage individuals as well as deputise on behalf of the Strategic Commissioning Manager. You will be expected to work collaboratively in a complex system with a broad range of partners to support innovation and improvement.
Strategic Commissioning commissions social care, health, and wider wellbeing provision for the Council, including care placements and support and prevention services.
You will be experienced in building and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders and partners including other local authorities, health partners and key stakeholders across the city.
