Technical Programme Manager - Melksham We are looking for a Technical Programme Manager to be based in Melksham Wiltshire for a world leading Systems supplier design, manufacture and servicing to the rail industry for Platform Screen Door Systems, Braking, HVAC, Driver Assistance and Auxiliary Power Systems. Role: The requirement of an experienced Technical Programme Manager has arisen to: ? To produce and deliver project plans for significant innovation programmes within the Knorr - Bremse Rail Systems UK business ? To improve project delivery of the Engineering Team through management of deliverables and tasks throughout a wide range of engineering flows, processes and teams ? To create robust engineering project plans that enable the Engineering Team to deliver well designed and validated products on - time and to specification ? Provide leadership and ensure robustness of the engineering process through adherence to the Knorr - Bremse Gate Process / V - Cycle ? To be able to identify and resolve project risks within product development Responsibilities: - Produce efficient engineering project plans for New Product Developments - Identify project risks and work with the Engineering Mangers to build appropriate mitigations - Report key project metrics back to the Engineering Team - Identify and implement changes to departmental processes to improve project delivery - To act as an interface between the Engineering Team, Projects Department and other business departments - Set project targets, measure progress and then re - evaluate plans - This is a key role within the UK Product Engineering Team, consisting of 70 professional engineers - Work with the Project Management Department to apply best practices within the Engineering Team - Assist the Engineering Team in focusing on the important tasks by communicating the high level project plan Training / Education: - Degree in relevant engineering discipline - Systems / Mechatronic Engineering background would be a distinct advantage Professional experience and/or qualifications: ? Understanding of the engineering processes used in complex Mechatronic products Mechanical, Electronics and Software ? Degree in Projects or Engineering Discipline would be an advantage ? Experience of management of new technology through the V - Cycle or equivalent process ? Qualification in Project Management such as PRINCE2 would be advantageous ? Technical experience in a large engineering organisation, producing global products ? Experience in using Project Planning tools preferably Primavera ? Ability to tackle multiple complex projects ? Good at prioritisation of tasks ? Able to determine main risks and opportunities within complex project plan ? Comfortable interfacing with a wide range of business disciplines and departments ? Hands - on and practical attitude to driving through project and process improvements Benefits - Salary - £40,000 to £48,000 - dependent upon experience.
