A well-established, specialist Metalwork Fabrication Contractor is recruiting an Estimator to join their team of design and estimating professionals delivering complex Steel Fabrication services to some of the biggest construction companies in the UK. If you have experience in costing Architectural Fabrications / Miscellaneous Metalwork - Stairs, Handrails Fabricated Components, etc., and would like to develop your career further then this may be the move for you. Based in County Down, our Client is renowned for their expertise in both design and fabrication of metalwork and pipe welding. They have secured a creditable reputation with repeat contracts from a vast array of UK Tier 1 Contractors on projects such as London Cross Rail, Water/Wastewater Treatment Projects, Marine, Education, Residential and Healthcare, Water/Wastewater Treatment Projects and Marine specialising in wide array of architectural, access and miscellaneous metalwork packages, such as feature staircases, handrailing and balustrading, access walkways, platforms, balcony balustrading and structural steel. Due to this on-going success, they are looking to strengthen their Sales and Estimating team with the appointment of an Estimator, who will join an already successful bid team in securing profitable contracts for the company. Some of your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Liaise with Design, Commercial & Operations Teams in analysing tender requirements, specification, and all tender-related documents. Produce detailed and accurate take-offs from drawings Follow up tender responses and queries with the Client in a professional and timely manner. Working with the Commercial, Design, and Operational teams; attending mid-tender and post-tender review meetings, and following up with any unsuccessful submissions to obtain feedback.To be considered for the role you will have: Excellent client-facing skills with ability to see projects through to completion, on time, and to budget. Highly desirable, at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with experience in costing Architectural Fabrications / Miscellaneous Metalwork - Stairs, Handrails Fabricated Components etc. A 3rd level qualification (or Equivalent) in a relevant subject ie, Civil, Construction or Mechanical Engineering. The ability to read, analyse and extract the relevant data from complex civil engineering documentation Familiar with modern fabrication processes and workshop practices.
