£67,000 - £75,000 + 33 days AL + Private Pension + Private Healthcare

We are looking for a Lead Biomedical Scientist to manage the Chemistry department within a state-of-the-art pathology laboratory.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a HCPC registered biomedical scientist with 6-7 years post-registration experience. You will hold a IBMS Specialist Diploma or equivalent as well as, experiences as an FIBMS/Chartered Scientist or equivalent. Ideally, we would like you to have an MSc level qualification, and a management qualification is desirable (or the willingness to work towards one).
The successful candidate will have relevant management experience leading a service. We are also happy to consider candidates with extensive experience as a deputy. If you feel you have the relevant experience, feel free to send in an application!
Requirements
* Must hold a HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
* 6-7 years post graduate UK based experience.
* IBMS specialist diploma or relevant qualifications and experience.
* FIBSM or chartered scientist equivalent experience
* MSc level qualification
* Management qualification is desirable or willing to work towards
Responsibilities
* Provide a clinical technical service for a discipline.
* Maintain financial responsibility for the Chemistry department.
* Management of non-clinical staff
* Assess and manage all consumables and equipment.
* Management of quality control and quality assurance to ensure the quality of analytical testing.
* Maintain the required accreditations (UKAS, MHRA,HTA).
* Ensure operations are compliant with regulations (eg. HSE, COSHH, GDPR).
* Management of staff allocations and monitoring workload to ensure service delivery.
* Performance management, reviews and PDPs to ensure staff are complaint and well trained.
* Develop and maintain laboratory documentation.
* Co-ordinate, monitor and review quality indicators, including turnaround times.
