Senior Occupational Health Advisor
RPS Occupational Health have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Occupational Health Advisor (SOHA) to manage a team of OHAs who analyse and report on results of health surveillance and fitness for work assessments.
The analysis work is carried out by a remote team of OHAs. You will be able to perform this role remotely, with occasional visits to RPS clinics and client sites for staff 121s, engagement events and staff training. Support to the operational management and commercial team will also be needed for new business development and client contract meetings.
You will actively engage in commercial initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless workflow and optimal resource utilisation. Your focus on monitoring key performance indicators and identifying areas for improvement will directly contribute to the success of our business strategies. Your insights and proactive approach will drive continuous enhancements and operational excellence, supporting our overarching business strategies and commitment to continuous improvements.

What you’ll be doing
1. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of class-leading service for the supply of health surveillance, health screening and fitness for work medicals in relation to the reporting of results. Our clinical service delivery work is carried out at client sites, RPS sites or from mobile screening units.
2. Work closely with the Resource Management team, Operational Management Team, Business Development Team, Clinical Governance Team and your team members to ensure high standards of clinical practice, clinical governance, operational efficiency and client satisfaction
3. Lead a team of remote OHAs through supportive and effective coaching, using an engaging and motivational line management style
4. Responsible for managing workflow and utilisation of an occupational health nurse team
5. Support the health surveillance reporting team with some clinical analysis approximately 60% of your time
Who we’re looking for
6. We are looking for a strong but personable individual, who will lead by example, and be a strong advocate for your team whilst working towards business objectives. You will be the face of a ‘quality service’ for RPS (Tetratech) and be responsible for the advice given and service perception of the employee and organisation, with regards to provision of health surveillance and fitness to work results.
7. Registered Nurse on NMC Register, holding a post-registration qualification in OH
8. Experienced in all aspects of OH service delivery including health service delivery, fitness for work and screening procedure (must be proficient with interpreting health surveillance results including audiometry, spirometry, HAVS)
9. Robust clinical governance attitude and leads by example to their team and the business
10. Excellent communication skills and ability to chair regular team meetings
11. Approachable style and easy to connect with
12. Pragmatic approach and strong decision-making ability
13. Management qualification at certificate level or above desirable but not essential or managerial experience desired
14. High degree of self-motivation and management
15. Strong organisational skills
16. Proficient IT skills including MS Word / Excel / Teams or equivalent
17. Strong team player and able to lead by example
18. Full UK driving licence and able to travel with some occasional overnight stays
