We have an AMAZING opportunity for a Support Worker to join a 3-bed service for YOUNG PEOPLE aged in central Exeter supporting young people who are 16+ to transition into independent living.
We are looking for ENTHUSIASTIC, RESILIENT and MOTIVATED individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of young people; to enable them to develop socially, emotionally and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.
No two days are ever the same, so you need to be happy to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. It is challenging, but incredibly rewarding work!!
Salary: £30,600 - £31,300 (inclusive of sleeps)
Location: Exeter
Hours: Full time
Shift Times: 9am - 11pm sleep 7am - 9.30am / 10 x 24.5 hour shifts -per month
Shift Pattern:
Week 1 - 3 x 24 hour shifts
Week 2 - 3 x 24 hour shifts
Week 3 - 1 x 24 hour shifts

As a Support Worker you will be responsible for:
To act as a role model to the young people and encourage them to take responsibility for their own lives.
To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
Supporting young people with life skills such as budgeting, cooking and cleaning.
Protect young people from risks to their health and welfare.
Provide support to the young people in the home and to promote their independence and well-being.
Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
Ensuring the safety of the young people and maintaining an up to date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, and preferred method of communication.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
Requirements:
Experience with Young People as a support worker is desirable.
Ideally, you will have experience with young people, youth work or similar.
You must be over the age of 21.
NVQ or QCF level 3 in Children & Young People is desirable.
You must be able to commute to Exeter
